If you’re interested in helping your child feel comfortable in our dental chair, then our dentists, Dr. Andrew Smith and Dr. Bradley Smith, are more than happy to help you. The more your child enjoys their dental visits, the better! There are a few things you can do to help your child have positive and successful dental visits. Those things are:

-Don’t use scary words: Scary words like pain, shot and surgery can increase your child’s heart rate and make them nervous and anxious. Please avoid these words as much as possible and use more friendly words, like a safe smile, healthy smile and strong smile. This might help your child feel more calm and relaxed.

-Bring comfort items to the appointment: Your child’s favorite blanket or teddy bear might help your child feel more comfortable during treatment, so bring them! We want your child to feel as comfortable as possible in the dental chair.

-Distract your child during treatment: You can play their favorite music or TV show on your phone, you can tell exciting stories during treatment, and you can even play games with your child. The more you distract them, the less they think about the things going on in their mouth.
